Vibration is one of the most significant causes of failure in the dissolution test – an increase of 5-10% in the dissolution rate may be caused.
Whilst vibration is not yet defined within the USP, it still needs to be monitored using a vibration meter.

Causes of Vibration
The most common causes of vibration are the water bath pump or a worn drive belt in the motor unit.
Other pieces of equipment on the same bench may also cause unnecessary vibration.
