Laboratory health and safety regulations place a strong emphasis on the exposure of lab personnel to harmful solvent vapours. The SolventSafe waste disposal system is a simple yet innovate product that specifically addresses the problem of waste solvents.
The SolventSafe consists of a substantial 7.5 litre ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene waste container to which you can connect up to 9 different waste lines at a time.
What's more, there are no fragile glass components, so there's no risk of any breakage. You can even keep the SolventSafe on the floor!
The SolventSafe features an organic vapour filter to ensure no solvent vapours can escape into the atmosphere. The integrated colour indicator changes from light pink to dark magenta when the filter needs replacing.
The 9-port manifold, that connects the waste lines to the SolventSafe, and the solvent vapour filter are connected to the waste container by a drip-free quick-connect coupling.
There are two SolventSafe systems, SLVSAF-01 and SLVSAF-02. SLVSAF-01 uses polypropylene/EPDM connectors whilst SLVSAF-02 features stainless steel/PTFE connectors.
Although polypropylene and EPDM have good solvent compatibility, the stainless steel and PTFE connectors used in SLVSAF-02 are recommended when using highly corrosive solvents. See the table below for specific details:

The SolventSafe meets the United States OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106(a)(29) and EPA 40 CFR 264.173 safety standards.
