All Cronus filters are manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001 using validated production processes. This ensures consistency, reliability and membrane integrity, week after week, year after year.

Additionally, samples of all the filter batches and membranes are held for 24 months from production for reference. This enables your current batch to be tested in our labs under your conditions should you require assistance with an application.

Cronus filters are made using inert, extractable free virgin polypropylene housings with luer lock and luer slip fittings. Each filter is sealed using an ultrasonic process to ensure that no adhesives can contaminate your samples — essential to maintain your sample integrity. At the same time the process creates a physically stronger filter to protect against potentially dangerous bursting.

Tested to Certified Quality Standards

Every single batch of Cronus syringe filters has to pass a rigorous set of tests:

Bubble Point — tests the pore size of the membrane again.
Water Breakthrough — confirms the pore size and tests the backpressure required to pass a water sample. This will be different for hydrophilic and hydrophobic membranes.
Burst Pressure — tests the membrane strength and that the membrane has been mounted correctly in the filter.
Filter Integrity — tests the actual filter fabrication and moulding to ensure that the housing rating is correct.
HPLC Extractables — tests each membrane to ensure low extractable levels and consistency from lot to lot.
Efficiency — tests the overall efficiency of the filter using known standards. Cronus filters are rated for high sample volume and filtration efficiency.
Filter Retention Volume — tests for residual sample left in the filter after use.

HPLC results can only be as good as the weakest component so consistent and reliable sample filtration is essential. Cronus syringe filters represent a new standard in sample preparation excellence and so will give you complete confidence in your results.
